Living Coast Discovery Center Celebrates 30th Anniversary with “Elegance on the Bay” Event on Saturd
CHULA VISTA, CALIF. – The Living Coast Discovery Center will host “Elegance on the Bay” on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the zoo/aquarium on San Diego Bay in Chula Vista.
The elegant reception will honor the leadership and contributions of San Diego County Supervisor Greg Cox, Floyd L. Wergeland, Jr., M.D., Founding Director Emeritus Stephen Neudecker, Ph.D., Board Chairperson Susan Fuller and other volunteers and staff who have helped the Living Coast reach this important milestone.
The celebration will include a catered dinner, wine and beer, two musical acts and special animal presentations by San Diego Zoo Safari Park, as well as up-close encounters with the Living Coast’s animal ambassadors. The Living Coast Discovery Center, a 501(c) 3 educational zoo and aquarium located within the San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge on Sweetwater Marsh, began operating as a non-profit in 2010 after assuming operations of the Chula Vista Nature Center.
