Living Coast Discovery Center Celebrates Animals on the Bay Day, Oct. 13
CHULA VISTA, CALIF. – The Living Coast Discovery Center, a nonprofit zoo and aquarium located on San Diego Bay in Chula Vista, will host Animals on the Bay Day on Sunday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The family-friendly event includes special $3 admissions for all ages.
The event will include interactive booths from many of the Living Coast’s community partners, including American Cetacean Society San Diego Chapter, Birch Aquarium at Scripps, Climate Science Alliance, Crown Cove Aquatic Center, Intertwined Conservation Corp., Ocean Connectors, Project Wildlife/San Diego Humane Society, San Diego County Library, San Diego Herpetological Society, SDG&E, South Bay Family YMCA, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Water Conservation Garden, Xerces Society, Zoology for Kids and Zovargo.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about local wildlife and conservation, and participate in games, presentations, up-close animal encounters, arts and crafts and more. The Simply Fresh food truck will be on-site with refreshments for purchase.
Animals on the Bay Day is made possible by the County of San Diego Community Enhancement Program.

By getting up-close and personal with our animal ambassadors, guests can gain a whole new appreciation for the natural world that surrounds us every day.”
In keeping with its mission, the Living Coast is encouraging guests to utilize public transportation to the event. A complimentary shuttle will pick up guests at the E Street trolley station every 30 minutes and transport them directly to the Living Coast.

The Living Coast Discovery Center, a 501(c) 3 educational zoo and aquarium located within the San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge on Sweetwater Marsh, began operating as a non-profit in 2010 after assuming operations of the Chula Vista Nature Center.
