The I.V. Society Opens Hydration Therapy Med-Spa in North Park, Just in Time for Holiday Season

SAN DIEGO – There are plenty of things that can cause severe dehydration and its coinciding misery— the work Christmas party, the flu, food poisoning, endurance sports, jetlag or simply burning the candle at both ends for too long. Fortunately, there is now an alternative to suffering through it. The I.V. Society, a new physician-driven practice in San Diego dedicated entirely to intravenous hydration therapy, can provide safe, fast and effective relief from the symptoms of dehydration.

Uniquely owned and operated by a team of licensed physicans, The I.V. Society has been providing mobile treatment services to homes and hotels since 2014 and has now opened a convenient store-front medical spa facility at 3859 30th Street in San Diego’s vibrant North Park.

How it works: The physicians perform an initial intake, recommend a customized treatment plan based on the individual’s needs, and coordinate the administration of the treatment by a nurse at the location most convenient to them. All services are performed by registered nurses, physicians assistants or the physicians themselves to provide the highest standard of care.

A number of treatment packages are available to treat the symptoms of hangover, dehydration, colds and flu, nausea and vomiting, jet lag, fatigue and exhaustion with a combination of intravenous fluids paired with electrolytes, medications, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. The I.V. Society also offers membership packages for a proactive approach to maintaining health and wellness through proper hydration and nutritional supplements on an ongoing basis. These treatments are designed to help increase energy and boost the immune system, which can be particularly beneficial during the busy winter holidays and cold and flu season.

Intravenous hydration therapy has been available in other major urban markets, including New York, Chicago and Las Vegas, in recent years. The I.V. Society is the first physician-owned and operated practice to open in San Diego.

“Whatever the cause, when your body is dehydrated, you are left feeling drained and miserable and it can be really hard to function,” said Rex Old, director of operations for The I.V. Society. “Our job is to identify the best treatment plan for each individual and get you back on your feet again, quickly and safely.”

The I.V. Society provides treatments to both individuals and groups, including holiday parties, conferences, trade shows/events, bachelor/bachelorette and wedding parties. I.V. therapy packages start at $179, with a mobilization fee of $200, which can be split among multiple individuals needing treatments at their home or hotel. Health and wellness membership packages can be purchased for $59.99 per month.
